Topsy Turvy
You have probably heard about the Topsy Turvy.
This is the way to grow vegetables in a container in your vegetable garden or on your deck, hanging upside down. I first saw this on TV and I am always skeptical of ordering stuff I see on TV. I never order stuff I see on TV.
I walked into Wal-Mart the other day and they had these on sale so I decided to give it a try.
I brought it home and set it up. Now it is a two person operation and if you have a lot of muscles on your arm like I do (haha--well it used to be muscle) then you may need someone else to put the plant inside for you.
I took one of my tomato plants from the garden--actually it was a set of three that I grew from seeds that I had not yet thinned.
I also bought some Miracle Grow potting soil to put in the bag. This is suppose to provide fertilizer for three months of growth.
Below is a video showing what I did.
I will post updates as I go along.
Below is a video that talks about this upside down way of growing vegetables along with your vegetable garden.

Here is an update for the upside down tomato plant. I had to relocate mine so it could get more sun. Since doing this it has been doing a lot better.
Below are pictures of my upside down tomatoes.
The tomatoes started doing good but then they started looking brown which means I was probably putting too much fertilizer on them and burning them.
I have cut back on the fertilizer and they seem to be doing better. They do have several tomatoes growing on them.
Below is a picture of a pepper plant I planted in the Topsy Turvy.
The pepper plant is coming along all right. I think I did the same thing to it with the Miracle Grow as I did the tomatoes.

I took down the Topsy Turvys. The plants in them were not growing any at all. Maybe it was due to the heat. I will try again next year before making a final judgment.
