This page is our Onion Home Page. It is an index to all of our pages on growing, harvesting and storing onions.

Our first page on Growing Onions from Seed where we talk about the Candy F1. We have had great success with this onion.

For the fall of 2010 we are working on the following pages:

Growing Large Onions where we talk about the Ruby Ring F1.

Then we will also do a page on Growing Onion where we will be focusing on the Red Wing.

I plan on planting a lot of onions this fall and there is a page on Growing Organic Onions where we will be growing the Cortland F1 OG.

We will also be doing a page on Planting Onions where we discuss growing the Peal Drop which is a mini bunching onion.

And we have a page on Harvesting Onions where we talk about the Bridger. These were some seeds that we trialed for a company. They did not do well here in the south. It is important that we make sure we are planting seeds that are sustainable in the area we are in.

Most onions have to be grown at a certain latitude range to achieve best results.

Below are pictures of our onion seedlings we started from seeds. I have never started onion seeds in pots for transplanting so this will be a new experience for me.
