How to Grow Green Beans
This page will provide written and visual instruction on how to grow green beans. The green bean I am going to be planting for the fall is the Provider. It is supposed to be able to handle cooler temperatures.
According to our lunar page, this should be planted from the 13th to the 17th of September 2009.
According to the Companion Growing chart green beans can be planted with any of the vegetables we are planting. The Provider is a bush bean. It is supposed to be semi-cold tolerant. I will test this theory.
Pole beans are a different story though.

I planted several types of green beans to include the provider. I just want to see how they do. I am hoping to turn my raised bed into a little greenhouse. The idea came to me several weeks ago. Not sure if it is my original idea or I saw it somewhere and my subconscious remembered it.
Green beans will grown in a greenhouse because they are self-pollinating.

In the picture below the green beans are growing good and strong. In a day or so I will need to thin them down to one plant.

My green beans have picked up some speed now that we have had some sunshine and warmer temps.
