Greens Home Page

This is our Greens Home Page. Here we give a summary of all our pages on greens.

We start off our page on greens with Growing Greens where we grew the Mei Qing Choi which is a Baby green-stem Pac Choi. They looked like they were going to be tasty but a bug took them out--all in one night. Must have been a very large and very hungry bug.

Then we grew the Arugula which has a sharp spicy flavor. We did get to harvest some of these until I was laid up for a week and no one watered.

Then we grew a Salad Green Mix called Elegance Greens Mix. This mix had colors ranging from dark and bronze red to bluish green. These had a great taste and texture but they finally succumbed to the high heat we have been having.

We will be re-growing the Elegance this fall. Find out more under our Fall Garden for 2011.

Greens can be grown in a container. However, I will be putting mine in the garden. I do not do with containers since they need constant care that I do not have time to provide.

I will be simplifying my garden a lot this fall.

The good things about greens is you can harvest the whole head or just a few leaves at a time depending on your needs. You will be the envy of the block with your fresh greens.
