Beet Home Page

This page is our Beet Home Page. It is an index to all of our pages on growing, harvesting, cooking and freezing beets.

Our first page starts with Growing Beets from Seeds where we talk about the Moneta F1. We sowed this directly in the soil. Actually the only way to grow beets is from seed.

Then we have Growing Beets in Flats where we started some seeds in pots. I did not think this could be done but it can be done. Carrots is a vegetable that cannot be started and transplanted.

Our page on Growing Beets where we focus on the Detroit Supreme. At first it looked like the beets just were not doing very well because I did not have them in a place to get enough sunlight. But then they took off as it warmed up and they got more light.

We have posted a page on How to Grow Beets where we focus on growing the Moneta in a greenhouse. We harvested some excellent sized beets.

Then we show how to process the beets at How to Cook Beets where we talk about cooking, freezing and eating our home grown beets.

We have a page on Nutritional Value of Beets where we talk about how good beets are for us to include the beet juice.

We also offer a Recipe for Pickled Beets.

And we end with a page on Beets where we talk about beets in general.

I love beets and wish I had a bigger garden to plant all the stuff I want to grow. I really do enjoy gardening.

We will continue to add more information on Beets as this page matures.

Thank you for your visit.
